Mi Shebeirach for Everyone Starting the Summer Holidays by Rabbi Sandra Kviat
As the summer holidays are nearly here for many students, or have already begun for some, we wanted to share this prayer originally written for the students of Beit Tefilah Israeli, as a reflection, and wishing everyone a good summer.
'May the One who blessed our ancestors Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Sarah, Rebekah, Rachel and Leah, bless all the children beginning their annual school vacation and all their teachers and parents who are completing the school year with them.
May it be Your will that You lead them in peace and wellbeing, guard their wellbeing, and bring them to the coming school year rested and with renewed vigour.
May the One who is good and beneficent to all creatures grant them discernment and knowledge to continue to grow, to be inquisitive, to learn, and to explore the world at their own pace, continuing to discover the world’s beauty through eyes filled wonder and hearts filled with kindness.
May God bless you and keep you
May God’s light shine upon you, and may God be gracious to you
May you feel God’s presence within you always and may you find peace.
May we all be blessed with never-ending learning and teaching, deepening our understanding and drawing wisdom from our always nourishing sources.'
